World Escape Day London with Chris Guillebeau
+ Special Guests

Doors 6pm
Performance 6:30pm

Our global celebration of doing something different is returning to London on Monday March 6th.

Join Escape the City plus special guests, for a night celebrating the why and how of escaping - whether it's to change career, start a business, or go on a big adventure.

This event is for you if:
You followed the rules, listened to advice from parents and teachers, did things right and got a 'good job' - but have that nagging feeling that you could do more, be more... do work that makes you really feel alive. Perhaps 'success' doesn't feel like all it's cracked up to be.

You're not alone. You're part of a growing group of people who are feeling disillusioned, looking for something different. Perhaps you know what that 'something' is (a new job, a business idea), and don't know how to make it happen. Perhaps you don't know what direction to take. Either way, you're in good company.

You're probably asking:
- Is this realistic? Will I go broke?
- Do I have to take a step down?
- What are the options out there for me?
- Do I have the skills I need?
- Where can I find the time to even think about this?

World Escape Day is all about demystifying what's involved in making an 'escape' and getting practical about the realistic steps you can take to start moving forward. Most of all, it's about meeting people who think like you do, who can help you turn thinking into action.

Come along to...
>> Explore the art of career experimentation, and how small steps can lead to big change
>> Ask Chris Guillebeau and our Escape Heroes your questions in a live Q&A session
>> Be inspired by ordinary people with extraordinary stories
>> Hear about the future of work, and how to make the most of it
>> Meet other people who aren't happy to settle for work that doesn't matter to them

What to expect:
Lessons from the Original Non-Conformist: Chris Guillebeau

Headlining the event will be New York Times best-selling author Chris Guillebeau, whose books include The $100 Startup, The Art of Non-Conformity, Born for This and The Happiness of Pursuit. He's also the man behind the amazing Side Hustle School podcast.

On his travels to every country in the world (yep, all 193 of them), he's learned a thing or two about carving your own path, making change happen, and doing work that matters. He'll be talking about what it means to live your life in a way that others don't expect, and how to make plans that actually become reality.

And the really great news: all tickets come with a free copy of The Happiness of Pursuit.

Stories from Escape Heroes
Making an escape can be as terrifying as it is exciting, and as unpredictable as it is rewarding. No two stories are the same, but anyone who's experimented with their career and found financial stability by making an exciting change has a bunch of lessons to share with the world. Some of our most inspirational Escape Heroes will be sharing their tales of career experimentation, and answering your questions about what it takes to make a brave - and financially viable - change.

Plus fun, games and challenges to kickstart your escape and connect you with likeminded people. Stick around afterwards for a drink and to plot your escape with new friends and allies...

About Escape
Escape is a global career change community for people who want to do work that matters to them. We're on a mission to help the world wake up to what work should look like. Check out our job board of exciting opportunities or our community tribe programmes to see more about what we're up to.

About the venue, St John at Hackney
St John is a beautiful 18th Century church in East London, which has become known as one of London's best live music venues having hosted the likes of Coldplay, Elbow and Florence & the Machine. It's a short walk from Hackney Central station, which is a 10 minute overground journey from Liverpool St. We'll have a bar serving craft brews and specially made cocktails, and you'll be able to grab a bite to eat from our street food stand.

Last year's tickets sold out, so grab yours early to avoid disappointment.
