The queen of UK lovers rock Carroll Thompson pays tribute to the queen of Jamaican soul Phyllis Dillon, whilst sailing along the Thames on the beautiful paddle steamer The Dixie Queen. This gig is part of the world-famous London Intl Ska Festival (13-16 April) which see’s 100 bands and DJs celebrate ska from it’s roots in rhythm & blues, mento and calypso, through it’s Jamaican originators and onto rocksteady, reggae, dub, 2 Tone, skapunk and beyond. Festival headliners include; Freddie McGregor, Yellowman, King Jammy, The Pioneers, Dave & Ansel Collins, Owen Gray, Bitty Mclean, Misty In Roots, Pama International, Dance Craze (film), Rhoda Dakar, Carroll Thompson, Brinsley Forde (Aswad) and many more.
