Robomagic Live presents Patawawa at The Old Blue Last
Bounding out of the sleepy town of Matlock with unapologetic zeal comes this vital electronic trio set to soundtrack any convivial 2017 event. Patawawa blend blood pumping beats, glittered guitar riffs and biting basslines and maintain a healthy knack for alliteration.
The three-piece have crafted a sound that stays true to the classic neon roots of funk and disco intrinsic to the dancefloors of the 1980’s but dressed with a trademark small town cheekiness that can only be born of the quiet hills of Derbyshire.
Support from Rhumba Club
Founder Tom Falle was formerly the lead singer and chief songwriter for Synth Pop duo TEDDY. Their single 'Happy Tim' premiered on The Line of Best Fit and featured in The Guardian, Clash Magazine and the NME. The track was played by Alice Levine on Radio 1. Last year Tom chose to pursue a more exciting project.
After months of obsessively listening to WHAM! and experimenting with with congas and retro synths he established solo project, RHUMBA CLUB and began writing retro-esque pop songs about awkward but current topics - gender issues, Tinder, LGBT+ issues, depression etc. In January this year the first RHUMBA CLUB "Club Night" was held at Servants Jazz Quarters in Dalston, London, to a sellout crowd. RHUMBA CLUB will be releasing their first single, ‘Reunion’, on 17 April.
