Hanabi haven't played a show for 18 years. That show was also their first. It was also (somehow) their reunion. It also sold out. Nobody outside that room ever got to hear those songs. Now they are back for another one off night in London. They are currently locked in a grotty basement writing a whole new set of songs. It will be loud. It also may well be another 18 years before you see them again.
Formed in 2012, Via Luminara are a four piece based in London. With a wealth of gigging experience under their belts including an appearance at Bestival and prestigious support slots with the likes of Bear's Den and The Wytches, they have steadily been making a dent in the South East London music scene. The band play hook laden indie, with soaring vocals and lush textured guitars, glued together with a telepathic rhythm section.
STEVIE AND THE NOBODIES
Stevie is a bedroom noise-monger best know these days for his instrumental surf-rock escapades. His music is all about crunchy guitars and quirky melodies.
This set will be a rare outing for his vocal stylings too.
Dickie Walker comes from a parallel world where the Beach Boys' Smile album came out in 1966 as originally planned, and the last US presidential election was won by all four members of Fugazi. His recordings are delicate, multi-layered works of melodic yet unpredictable post-pop, using a huge range of analogue and digital instruments. As a live performer, he dumps all that and lets the songs do the work, with some help from one electric guitar and a judiciously deployed looper. He lives in south London with an assortment of cats, daughters and wives.
