BESTIVAL TO HOST BIGGEST DISCO-PARTY EVER!
FEATURING
A WORLD RECORD BREAKING DISCOBALL -
NILE ROGERS THE CHALLENGE IS ON!
PLUS
STUDIO 54 INSPIRED ACTION WITH NICKY SIANO AND MORE
The architect of pop as we know it, one of party-music’s most influential men and the hottest producer on the planet, Nile Rodgers and his Chic organisation will be performing a mind-blowingly amazing set to bring Bestival 2014 to a close.
Not content with merely closing the show, Nile Rodgers has told us that he wants to create the world’s biggest ever disco-party, and that’s just the sort of behaviour we can get right behind at Bestival! As a centrepiece to the party, Nile has challenged Rob da Bank and Bestival to create the world’s largest discoball. Music to our ears, the challenge is on! And we’re going to make it official by breaking the Guinness World Record for the Biggest Discoball Ever!
So, to get things warmed up for our jumbo dancefloor denouement, this September at Robin Hill, we’ll be flying in legendary Studio 54 resident and Gallery founder Nicky Siano for your dancing pleasure. The man responsible for spinning the floor-fillers at Bianca Jagger’s iconic and infamous Studio 54 birthday party, Nicky is part of the fabric of disco and was a driving force that brought the sound to worldwide acclaim, guaranteeing that our Desert Island Disco Spectacular will get off to a brilliantly boogie-tastic start.
Then it’s the real deal. Especially themed and extended for our Desert Island Disco spectacular, Chic’s set will chart Nile’s dancefloor dalliances through the ages from the band’s own era-defining debut Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) right up to chart conquering present day collaborations. Featuring at least one very special guest, it will be an explosion of sight and sound, featuring a jaw-dropping creative from Josie da Bank, with a stunning light show, mind-altering visuals and incredible pyrotechnics!
So, get your glad rags on, break out the sequins, grab your ostrich feathers, hell, you could even come dressed as a big white horse, but don’t miss out on the most inconceivably amazing extravaganza of your life time. We’re going to make history!

*This year we are adding on a £1 charity donation onto all Bestival tickets. The money raised will go directly to the Isle Of Wight Youth Trust (Reg Charity no. 1087163) to help fund their fantastic work offering counselling and support to young people aged 25 and under on the Isle of Wight. Eileen Monks OBE, Director of the Youth Trust: “The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is so lucky to have the fantastic support of the Bestival team and by donating £1 you will be helping vulnerable children and young people on the Isle of Wight." The Bestival Foundation is also a proud supporter of the Youth Trust.

BARCODED SECURITY TICKETS
These tickets feature a barcode that is unique to each ticket. This barcode will be scanned on entry to the festival to ensure you have a genuine ticket. Each barcode will only allow entry for one person. PLEASE NOTE: allow plenty of time for onward journeys as we're on an island and there are many of us trying to get away from the site, and off the island at a similar time.

GETTING IN TO BESTIVAL
There will be queues to get in but you can help us get you into the festival more quickly by having your ticket and ID ready before you get to the gate, by decanting any glass bottles in good time before you arrive at the gate and by not bringing any of the non-permitted items as follows.

Recycle - Please put all cans and plastic bottles in the recycle bins.

KEEP YOURSELF & YOUR BELONGINGS SAFE
Bestival is a very safe place to be, but the following standard festival advice is worth taking in none-the-less… better safe than sorry!

Be aware of your surroundings; remember that you are safer in a group. If you see anyone being aggressive to someone, let security know immediately - we don't want people like this at Bestival.

Look after your belongings - make sure you keep your mobile, iPod and wallet/ purse safe and out of sight. Do not leave valuable items on display in your car. Use the locker services available on-site - http://www.chargeandstore.com

When you go to sleep make sure all your valuables/wallet/cash etc are at the top of the tent next to your head and not left near the tent flap

Don't leave your drink unattended - even soft drinks can be spiked. Remember, alcohol or drugs can affect your ability to make safe judgments. Drink in moderation to ensure you remain alert and aware of your surroundings.

Make friends with your neighbours. Organise a meeting point with your friends where you will be three times a day in case you get split up. We have mobile masts but sometimes messages are delayed in getting through.

If you see anything that concerns you or if you see anyone acting suspiciously please speak to the nearest police officer, security or steward - help us make Bestival safer and a more pleasant place to be.

Southern Vectis will be our official Bestival 2014 Island shuttle bus operator to and from all ferry ports
Return ticket - £12 (valid for one return journey)
Single ticket - £6 (this can be used once in either direction on any day)

All shuttle service vehicles will drop off and pick up from a dedicated on site coach park situated next to the festival Red entrance and signposted from within the festival.

IMPORTANT: There will be no Shuttle Buses operating to or from the Robin Hill entrance again this year. This area will be for Taxis, drop offs/pick ups and Big Green Coach services that have travelled from mainland locations only.
GETTING TO BESTIVAL FROM ISLAND TOWNS (& BACK)
Isle of Wight bus company Southern Vectis will operate all their other regular island routes, with buses passing the Bestival site able to drop off / pick up at the Bestival Shuttle Bus Station.

More info on Southern Vectis bus routes and fares can be found at www.islandbuses.info

For journeys outside bus hours, you will need to book a taxi or arrange a lift home.

Do not walk. There are several pedestrian prohibitions in place around the site to protect customers as many roads have no pavement and are dimly lit during the evening.

NB: Fares for all Southern Vectis buses will be payable on board or at our onsite bus ticket office on Monday. The easiest thing is to buy a return in advance!
