Please enter The Mitchell Library through the Granville Street Entrance for all performances. Please note there is a small flight of stairs inside the North Street entrance.
Opening Hours
Monday - Thursday: 9am - 8pm (will close later during the festival week, approx 10pm)
Friday & Saturday: 9am - 5pm (will close later during the festival week, approx 10pm)
Sunday - will be open 9am - 10pm on the festival Sunday
PLEASE NOTE : Postage for tickets is £1.85 and not £1.65 as indicated in the AYE WRITE brochure. There will be no charge for tickets that are collected at the venue.
Travel
Bus: Nos. 9, 11, 16, 18, 42, 44, 57, 62
Underground: To St.George's Cross underground station.
Train: To Charing Cross train station. On exiting the station turn right, walk through the pedestrian area and down the steps into Bath Street. Turn left and walk across the M8 flyover which takes you to North Street and one of the entrances to The Mitchell. The other entrance is on Granville Street, at the opposite side of The Mitchell building.
Car: Travelling Westbound on M8, leave at Junction 17 (Charing Cross); travelling Eastbound, leave at Junction 19 (City Centre) and follow signs for Charing Cross or The Mitchell Library. On-street metered car parking is available. The nearest car park is on India Street, close by Charing Cross Station.
Airport: Glasgow International Airport is located approximately 6 miles away.
The Herald Café Bar
Set in the heart of the venue, The Herald café bar offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can meet and chat about the events you have attended or the ones you are just about to! You can also enjoy a delicious menu of freshly prepared food ranging from a tempting breakfast menu and tasty lunchtime bites to a selection of light bites to enjoy in the evenings. Or just drop by to enjoy a frothy cappuccino or a glass of wine whilst relaxing between events. Open from 9am until the last event of the day.
Waterstones Festival Book Shop
Waterstones bookstores will run a dedicated Aye Write bookshop during the festival offering all the authors' books as well as a selection of recent publications. The bookshop will be located in the North Street corridor of The Mitchell and will be open from 10am until the building closes.
